Description:Little trees, shrubs or semi-shrubs, annuals. Leaves linear, sometimes filamentous or small. But it is often more or less thickened, fleshy and therefore cylindrical. The flowers are bisexual.
Confuse with:Suaeda and Climacoptera
Tax. Comments:APG III with about 150 species.. literature....
Comments:Cosmopolitan. Mostly on saline habitats. Difficult or sometimes impossible to determinate without fruits. Use: ash in soap and glass making, locally eaten or cattle-fodder.
